I have always loved dogs and I am passionate about understanding them and our relationship with them.  I have worked in rescue helping rehabilitate 'unhomeable' dogs. My specialisation is in rescue, nervous and anxiety problems, including reactivity and separation anxiety. I have 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats of my own.

Over the years I have also be actively involved in fostering dogs

from Romania, with complex backgrounds from a local rescue charity.

I strongly believe in helping owners with their dogs. I am continuously studying and am currently working through my Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour Practitioners and have an Accredited Advanced Certificate in Canine Pharmacology waiting in the wings. I am dedicated to continually updating and expanding my knowledge so I can offer the very best advice and support to my clients and their dogs.

As a behaviourist, I am proud to be a force free, ethical trainer and behaviour consultant. I chose this career as I am passionate about all dogs, their welfare and happiness. I truly believe in helping owners bond and live in harmony with their dogs. This is all interlinked with our understanding and acceptance of these amazing animals we share our lives and our homes with.

Dog Behaviour

Training Methods

heirachy of dog needs

I only ever use force free, positive reinforcement training methods. I work under the LIFE (Least Inhibitive Functionally Affective) approach to ethical training methods and the Humane Hierarchy Philosophy.  Animals learn better when they are relaxed, engaged and happy. I do not believe in punishment as this is counterproductive in training. When it comes to modifying dog behaviour I truly believe in taking a holistic approach when helping with behavioural issues and do not believe in merely suppressing behaviours through punishment.

All dog's and their circumstances are different and I tailor training to suit the individual dog and their family.

I am constantly seeking to expand and advance my knowledge through both study and the wonderful dogs and their people that I meet. I firmly believe you never stop learning and have a passion to pass this onto you, the owner.

Helping you understand why your dog is behaving the way they are is fundamental to help change unwanted behaviours into positive ones.  Dog's are great learners, I will teach you to understand and train your dog and help them to reach their full learning potential and ultimately create a great bond and relationship with your best friend.
